ScaleBound: Platinum Games wants to come back with Microsoft
PlatinumGames, the studio behind playing like Nier: Automata and Bayonetta, presented ScaleBound for the first time at E3 2014. The action-packed RPG with an open game world, a sword fighter as a protagonist, who should cover large boss fights together with a dragon, was planned as a joint project with Microsoft. The game topped the desired timetable but so much afterwards and also struggled with their own engine that Microsoft stopped the development.
In an interview with IGN Japan, the President of PlatinumGames Atsushi Inaba and the (former) Game Director of ScaleBound Hideki Kamiya , they would like to revive the game. Inaba said:
Wire, Kamiya and I, say it seriously. We would really like to work back to ScaleBound. I would like to discuss this correctly with Microsoft. (Source: IGN).
Kamiya himself supplemented that development was already well advanced. He keeps it pointless if Microsoft would not do anything. Since are the rights for the game at Microsoft , they must be on board so that the development can be continued.
_The fate of ScaleBound also share many other games: _
How is it with ScaleBound on?
Microsoft has not expressed itself on the subject, so it is still in the stars, whether Inaba and Kamiya can get scalbound back from the dead. Currently they should have to do full hands with Platinum Games. This year alone Bayonetta 3, Babylon's Case and Sol Cresta are planned. Furthermore, the Japanese studio is still a secret game with the working title project G.G . So it may still take until it continues with ScaleBound - provided Microsoft is doing.
